SYMBI aims at supporting the transition towards a resource-efficient economy trough establishing territorial synergies to manage waste and exchange energy & by-products as secondary raw resources-
SYMBI enables the regions involved to foster sustainable growth and to create new jobs as the industrial symbiosis may lead/contribute to:
- significant material savings leading to an increase in competitiveness
- new business models consisting of sources from secondary raw material
The activities of SYMBI:
- Encourage regional waste transformation systems
- Promote the use of secondary raw materials
- Prioritize green public procurement
- Unlock investments by regional and local financial actors
- Enhance current practises in ecosystems of industrial innovation
- Reach consensus between the regional interested parties
